WOYWW 150

APOLOGIES FOR LAST WEEK.....
HORMONE-ITY LEVELS BACK TO NORMAL...
HAS IT MADE ANY DIFFERENCE????
NOPE....
*grin*

A new week, a new post - unfortunately for you lot, the same old me!!
The indoors desk this week features the schizophrenic 'Am I a flower or Citrus pattern??' fabric. I was having a rummage (as one does...) and I found a length of this, not big enough for a bag or apron so I've made two carrier bag tubes.
I use the box construction to attach the loop - I like sturdy loops, me...
The finished article (also in my shop)
This past week has also included the magic changing bin!! Oh yess, Ladieeees and Gentlemen, prepare to be amazed at the chameleon-like ability of this humble bin to change from....
To THIS!!
Da- daaaaaaaa. *drum roll*
Now, I'll have you know that I made the pattern up for this and it included GEOMETRY. Oh yes, indeedy, Pi R sq H and all that!! I made a similar one in red/taupe spots as well for the Sister Bin.

But it hasn't been all sewing - here's the Outside desk
Lots of bedding plants potted up. It's just as well they're snuggy warm in here, cos we've had some vicious morning frosts...
I've worked hard tidying the garden up and it looks better for it!

FINALLY - you know that WOYWW is taking over your life when you go to an Artillery Museum with your lads and Zentangles pop up. What is she blathering on about now, I hear you cry....
The patterns just reminded me of the amazing artwork that's been featured on many desks these past few weeks. And if we pull out....
An 18th century cannon from Burma. Quite amazing!

You see, sturdy loops, geometry and Zentangle cannons...I do worry about my leapfrog mind sometimes...... :D
Have a great week xx

LOVELY pictures Jan. Your garden looks lovely . . . but there's something missing. Oh yes . . . it needs CHOOKS! LOL! xxx

lisa said...

Ohh my favourite fabric there, Jan. I look at mine all the time and it just makes me smile.
Your bin cover is great but I know which version my DD would prefer!!! She has one very similar and would be shocked if I suggested covering it up, give her a few years and it'll all be different!!
I love your outdoor desk of course. It's so much tider than mine, I'm shuffling trays round to find some space at the minute. Hubby spent Easter building me raised beds for veggies so now they are competing for space with the flowers.
You have such a big garden and so beautiful, although that grass wouldn't survive long round here, it'd soon be flower beds. We had the garden before children so the grass disappeared quickly and now there is just a postage stamp for playing on. No gardening today though, it's chucking it down!!

Magnificent tree in your garden, wish I had room for one of those but if I did Mr B would keep chopping off its branches - he's is of the tidy garden mind - i.e. not a gardener at all.
Doesn't matter if the fabric is floral or cistrus, it still looks great as does your bin cover. So much going on with you this week and all great.

Dear LLJ,

That bin looks real nice - what a transformation! But you don't actually throw trash in it, now do you? And get that fabric all messy? Nope, I couldn't do it. I'd store some of my yarn in it.

Hormones, don't we just love them?!? At least by the photos I see on some of the other blogs, I'd say there's a majority of us around the same age. We can all relate!

Your backyard looks great!

Lovely bin cover, but it is just too good to use, it might get dirty. Our greenhouse is just as full as yours. In fact, I am considering putting some of the hardier plants outside and covering them with fleece at night. Even the conservatory window ledges are now pressed into service. Thank you for your visit this week and kind comments. I always enjoy seeing what you are making, and the photos of your area. Have a good week with better weather, we hope. xx Maggie #59

The citrus slices are looking more like flowers today. Perhaps what you see in them says something about your psyche or something. Great tube bag and excellent transformation of the princess bin. The greenhouse and the garden are looking fabulous! I'd come play but I've developed a severe allergy to all of nature's wonders. Or maybe just all the pollenity ones (my new word, not nearly as cool as homone-ity).

Oooh LLJ thanks so much for your awesome comment on my blog - everyone has responded magnificently to my mask zentangle!! Do please feel free to download the piccie if you want to. You do realise, don't you, that it was you that I have to blame for getting me started on this? It was your lovely tree on WOYWW 146! I saw it and thought, "I could do that..." I do think there's some awesome work done by the zentangle teachers on Youtube though... Strictly speaking my mask isn't zentangle in its purest form, but zentangle art - a lot more disciplined than drawing a simple string and then filling it with random tangles.

I must admit, I am very pleased with the way the mask has turned out. Trouble is, this one's going to be a tough act to follow! I haven't done any since I finished it, except for some step-outs and sketches in my Art Journal, as I've been a bit busy with other things this week.

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my clay extruder from Ebay so that I can start on the really fun part of my Choc-a-Bloc project - the little stones that both Her Majesty Julia Queen of Desks and my hubby both thought were Mint Imperials!! - are ready to go on now. Hopefully something worthwhile will appear before next Wednesday...

When are you going to post some piccies of the zentangles done from those awesome Burmese carvings? They are stunning! Makes me think I could zentangle the designs on my Burmese teak screen... Once you start, you see designs everywhere, don't you.

Love your waste bin makeover! Coooool!

Thanks again. You've got a lot to answer for, my friend!!

Sorry I missed WOYWW this week. I fell in love with your garden and yard. I can't believe you are having such frigid weather there. And I like how your yard is enclosed, too. It looks very private.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking up on me. It made me feel so much better and I greatly appreciate it and you!

Bleubeard and Elizabeth said...

Cripes, I forgot to answer your question about the cellar. I have a basement. It is where my craft studio is. It is a dark dungeon, but I feel safe during times they issue tornado warnings. And thankfully, I have everything I need down there, including a complete bath, microwave, toaster oven, and hot plate. Of course, that all presupposes the electricity didn't get knocked out by either lightening or flying debris (grin).

BTW, Bleubeard was ready to go to the basement before I was. I wanted to stay and watch the developing storm on tv. But he was quite insistent!
